Art Walk Gets the Joke

News Brief

The first Downtown Art Walk with the new Comedy Walk element last week was a people-watcher’s dream, bringing a diverse, teeming crowd to Gallery Row. On Thursday, Jan. 10, 30 comedy acts performed in six venues scattered throughout the area during the regular monthly art open house. From 8-9 p.m., comedians with credits ranging from “Saturday Night Live” to the Comedy Store on Sunset Boulevard performed at the Downtown Comedy Club and Los Angeles Theatre Center on Spring Street; Broadway’s Palace Theatre; and the Long Space and the Canadian Building on Main Street. Taking it all in along with the gallery offerings is no easy feat, but patrons will have another chance to try when the comedians return at next month’s Downtown Art Walk.
