Jules Verne Festival to Return to Broadway

News Brief

The Jules Verne Adventure Film Festival has announced initial details for its second event in Downtown Los Angeles. The series of screenings and related events will take place Oct. 23-26 at a series of theaters on Broadway, as well as in the Edison nightclub and the Bradbury Building. Last year’s event, which attracted more than 14,000 attendees, was divided between Broadway venues and the Shrine Auditorium. The festival, started by Jean-Christophe Jeauffre and FrŽdŽric DieudonnŽ 16 years ago in Paris, is dedicated to films about nature, adventure and science fiction and was named in honor of the 19th-century sci-fi author. In a partnership with the city, festival organizers will once again invite thousands of schoolchildren to participate. Details of screenings, events and honorees will be announced as the festival nears.
