News Brief
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES - It’s all Salonen, all the time at laphil.com/celebratesalonen. The Los Angeles Philharmonic recently launched a new website that showcases Esa-Pekka Salonen’s 17 seasons as music director of the orchestra. Salonen, who premiered several of his works with the Phil throughout the years, will turn the baton over to Gustavo Dudamel in 2009 to dedicate himself more fully to composing. Along with a timeline of Salonen’s concerts and compositions, the site has a media center with more than 100 photographs, four hours of audio interviews, three hours of video and 15 hours of music. Among the performance clips is footage of Salonen’s first rehearsal with the orchestra in Walt Disney Concert Hall; audio clips include many performances of music by Stravinsky.
